About Me
Art Tornasol is a soul explorer, ritualist, diviner, mover, and kinkster whose work lives at the intersection of the ancient and the electric, where pattern meets permission and the strange becomes sacred.
Born of Irish, Spanish, and Indigenous Mexican lineage, Art exists in the liminal—the crossroads of borders, thresholds, and in-between. Non-binary, bilingual, Mexican-American, and growing up on the South Texan border, they have always moved through the world as someone who is simultaneously a citizen of multiple worlds and fully restrained by none. These are not limitations, these are portals into a richer, deeper interplay with life.
Growing up with academic parents, Art was surrounded by the logical, rational, and that which is only visible to the mundane eye, only to find it deeply isolating and confusing, as it stood in complete contradiction with the unseen realm they found themselves residing in. Since childhood, Art knew there was more. That the universe was not a machine but a place of magic, wonder, and meaning, a place that could not be reduced to findings published in prestigious journals and peer-reviewed research alone.
Science, while crucial to our existence, is not an impartial field. Research is motivated by who finances it, what questions are considered, and who benefits from such explorations. When corporations provide massive contributions to such enterprises, knowledge itself becomes skewed as it becomes a commodity. What is regarded as legitimate, credible, or worth investigating is never independent from power and capital.
Art does not preach anti-intellectualism. They see the repercussions of an increasingly illiterate American society and strongly believe in the importance of critical thought and intellectual curiosity. Their beliefs are a disruption of the either/or. Science and magic are not enemies. They are complementary to each other, both necessary for creating a holistic point of view.
Art's worldview is rooted in animism: the understanding that everything is alive, ensouled, and relational. This is the oldest human knowing on earth, carried in the bones of Indigenous peoples and cultures who maintain a rooted connection to the more-than-human world. The mechanistic, scientific, materialistic reality we have been sold has created deep disenchantment. Art believes that through dance, ritual, divination, and the recovery of ancestral practices we can reclaim some of that magic and reconnect to the depth of life our ancestors once knew.
Highly sensitive, deeply intuitive, neurodivergent, and no stranger to navigating the delicate dance of maintaining well-being under the psychic weight of late-stage capitalism, Art has always felt the invisible architecture of spaces and people deeply. Growing up with the privilege of travel deepened this sensitivity, but life has a way of teaching us to mute what makes us different. For years, Art walked a darker road, numbing out and running from feeling too much, until a friend's death cracked everything open.
What followed was not a straight line. It never is.
Since 2011, Art has been in active reclamation. Astrology came first, then yoga, magic, Reiki, 5Rhythms and Ecstatic Dance. Then Art took a dip into the realm of BDSM and kink, followed by a deliberate stepping away to process and deconstruct the whiteness and purity culture underlying so many spiritual communities. What grew in its place was truer and wilder: a deeper dive into Ancient and Hellenistic astrology, ancestral healing practices, ritual and magic, returning to kink and BDSM spaces and communities, Vortex Healing® Divine Healing Energy, and most recently Body Temple Dance. Art holds a decade of experience in movement as medicine, deep roots in astrology and divination, and years of wandering that confirmed what they have always known:
Divinity lives in everything. Especially the dark, wild, and strange.
This is a practice built from the messy spiral path of being human. This is a practice built from life. This is a practice built from following signs, from getting lost and confused, making mistakes, facing deep challenges, and learning how to find the way back home and back to oneself.
Art works with the ones who are stuck, not shattered. The ones who feel like they’re performing a life instead of living one. The ones whose weirdness, wildness, and magic have been quietly waiting for permission to exist authentically. Through somatic practices, energy work, ritual, movement, and divination, they help disrupt the patterns keeping you numb and disconnected and are here to help you find your way back to living from the inside out.
You don't need to be fixed. You need to be seen.
